Virgin Galactic Is Selling Tickets to Space for $450,000

Richard Branson's space company Virgin Galactic announced that it will begin selling tickets for space flights on February 16. The total price of one ticket is $450,000, with $150,000 as an initial deposit, and the final payment can be made before the flight. The company plans to have the first thousand customers on board later this year.

Launches will be conducted from Spaceport America in New Mexico, and each flight will last 90 minutes. During the 90-minute journey, space tourists will enjoy several minutes of out-of-seat weightlessness and breath-taking views of Earth from the 17 windows of the spaceship.

According to Virgin Galactic, reservations include several days of spaceflight preparedness activities. The spaceflight reservations also provide access to the Future Astronaut membership community.

In July 2021, Virgin Galactic successfully completed its first tourist space flight in less than an hour. Branson himself was on board.
