SpaceX Launched Its Falcon Heavy Rocket for the First Time in Three Years
Elon Musk-led SpaceX launched its Falcon Heavy rocket into space for the first time in three years, sending a classified payload for the U.S. Space Force into space.
The world's largest operational space launch vehicle lifted off from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida on November 1. It delivered into orbit several secret cargoes for the U.S. Department of Defense as part of the USSF-44 mission.
The rocket's two boosters separated from the core engine module and returned to land within seconds of each other at the Florida launch complex.
This flight was the first for Falcon Heavy since June 2019, as well as the rocket's first operational national security mission.
