Refricon 2025: Revolutionizing the HVAC Future with Sustainability
Over 350 HVAC professionals gather at Refricon 2025, focusing on sustainable and economic advancements in air conditioning.

A New Milestone for Refricon
The ninth edition of Refricon, held in Costa Rica on May 24, 2025, marked a significant step forward for the HVAC industry. With the theme “Sustainability and Economy,” the event brought together over 350 professionals at the prestigious Costa Rica Convention Center. These attendees, ranging from technicians to students, converged to discuss the future of air conditioning and its adaptation to a greener planet.
From Humble Beginnings to Central America’s Premier Event
What started nearly a decade ago as a gathering of 50 has evolved into a must-attend event for anyone in the air conditioning sector in Central America. Refricon has maintained its mission as a platform for technical advancement while fostering connections among market players. According to Alberto Jara, general manager of Refrimundo, “Nine editions later, we’ve managed to create a space combining training, technological innovation, and networking.”
Embracing Growth and a Green Vision
This year’s Refricon embodied growth and a commitment to sustainability. Moving the conference to the larger Costa Rican Convention Center was a testament to the event’s expanding reach and influence. It showcased topics essential for transitioning to cleaner and more efficient HVAC technologies, with discussions centered around energy solutions, ecological refrigerants, and new economic models within the HVAC realm.
A Non-Profit, Network-Driven Event
One unique aspect of Refricon 2025 was its non-profit nature, allowing wide participation. Sponsored and financed by exhibitors, attendees could engage without a fee, promoting inclusivity and extensive networking opportunities. Jara noted, “Our commitment is clear—growing and delivering an international-quality event for Costa Rica.”
Looking Forward to 2026
With Refrimundo celebrating its 20th anniversary alongside the conference, the organizers are already setting their sights on 2026 to expand their reach even further. As stated by Jara, aiming to double the capacity and create another landmark year depends on sponsorship and dedicated planning. “We are committed to continue growing,” he emphasized, “and to provide an international quality event for Costa Rica.”
The Role of Specialized Media
The support from specialized media, such as ACR Latin America, continues to amplify Refricon’s influence, helping to share the event’s insights with the broader Latin American community. According to ACR Latinoamérica, their presence ensures that the impact of Refricon extends far beyond the convention center’s walls.
Refricon 2025 demonstrated the power of collaboration and shared knowledge in the HVAC industry, emphasizing that the path forward is one rooted in sustainability and innovative thinking.
