OneWeb Signed a Contract to Launch Satellites From India

OneWeb signed a contract with Indian New Space India Limited to launch its satellites from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota, the company reported on its website.

The agreement will allow OneWeb to complete a program to launch satellites and create a constellation of communication satellites in low orbit to provide high-speed connectivity with low latency. There are now 428 OneWeb satellites in orbit – 66% percent of the entire constellation.

In March, the company also signed a contract to launch satellites into orbit with the U.S. company SpaceX. The first launch is scheduled for this year, and the terms of both deals were not disclosed.
