Netflix has unveiled an exciting new documentary titled Unknown: Cosmic Time Machine, dedicated to the awe-inspiring James Webb Space Telescope (JWST). The documentary delves into the journey of this groundbreaking observatory, from its conception to the capture of mesmerizing deep sky images of the cosmos.

Directed by Shai Gal and executive produced by Jason Spingarn-Koff, Cosmic Time Machine premiered on July 24, 2023, offering viewers an exclusive behind-the-scenes glimpse into the development and launch of the JWST. The film follows the dedicated team of engineers and scientists who spent nearly three decades working on this monumental mission.

The James Webb Space Telescope is an exceptional successor to the Hubble Space Telescope, boasting technological advancements and becoming the largest and most complex off-Earth observatory in history.

Launched in December 2021 aboard an ESA Ariane 5 rocket, the telescope reached its designated Lagrange 2 workplace, situated 1 million miles (1.6 million km) from Earth, in January 2022.
