In a spirited address at the inaugural ceremony ‘Navarambh’ at IIT Jammu, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha invigorated the fresh batch of students to contribute significantly to India’s scientific strides. Highlighting how IITs are crucial to nation-building, he remarked, “Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, opportunities for IIT graduates abound. Your talent and hard work can position India as a global hub of innovation.” His vision places science and technology at the core of ‘Viksit Bharat.’

Encouraging students to tackle real-life challenges, Sinha emphasized adaptability in a swiftly changing global landscape. He called for a sustained focus on tech entrepreneurship and persistent innovation, asking the faculty to elevate research that aligns with national imperatives. According to Rising Kashmir, innovation in defence, particularly in cybersecurity and AI-driven warfare, is paramount.

Sinha praised ‘Operation Sindoor,’ a testament to India’s technological prowess in warfare. He called for leveraging advancements in AI, automotive technologies, space exploration, energy, and sustainability. New Academic Ventures at IIT Jammu

Reflecting IIT Jammu’s commitment to preparing students for future challenges, Sinha launched four new programs. These include Predictive Analytics for data-driven decision-making and Engineering Physics for blending theory with practical solutions. Furthermore, new programs in Tunnel and Structural Engineering aim at regional infrastructural improvements, particularly in the Himalayan areas.
