Kongsberg Defence and Aerospace (KONGSBERG) has once again demonstrated its expertise in the aerospace industry by securing a major contract to supply critical hardware for the Ariane 6 launch system. This new agreement with ArianeGroup is set to advance Europe’s strategic access to space.

This versatile launcher had its maiden voyage in July 2024 and has already completed two commercial launches in March and August 2025.

The contract encompasses the delivery of Optical Safety Barriers (OSB) and Upper Part Attachment (UPPA) mechanisms. These components are vital for the functionality and safety of the Ariane 6 rocket. Since 2016, KONGSBERG has been instrumental in the development of these systems, achieving a commendable record of 15 complete flight sets delivered by 2021.
