NASA Shares a New Panorama of the Center of the Milky Way

The US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has shown a new panorama of the center of our galaxy, the Milky Way. Pictures of billions of stars and black holes were collected for over 20 years to create it.
The observations, which were later used to create the panorama, were carried out from the Chandra X-ray orbiting Observatory in South Africa.

The study, published in the Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society, provides the most precise picture of the plumes of hot gas that emit X-rays emanating from an area near the black hole in the center of the galaxy.
