New Roscosmos chief Yuri Borisov said that Russia will withdraw from the International Space Station (ISS) after 2024. NASA, in turn, said they had not been officially notified of these plans.

Borisov explained that Roscosmos would fulfill all obligations to foreign partners before leaving the project. He also explained that by that time, Russia plans to start creating the Russian Orbital Service Station (ROSS), a new space station. According to him, the implementation of this project will be the main priority of the domestic space industry.

ISS is a joint project of the space agencies of the United States, Japan, Canada, the EU, and Russia. The station has been in orbit around the Earth since 1998 and is being used for scientific experiments. At the moment, the Russian segment of the ISS consists of six modules.
