The Alignment of NASA's James Webb Space Telescope Is Now Complete

NASA has reported that the alignment of the James Webb Space Telescope is now complete and published a series of images obtained by the telescope.

After examining the images, the space agency confirmed that all four of the observatory's powerful on-board science instruments are capable of producing sharp, well-focused images.

NASA also noted that the performance of the telescope optics exceeds the most optimistic expectations. It is now ready to move on to the next and final series of preparations before it begins its scientific work. The last phase of preparations is known as science instrument commissioning. This process will last about two months before scientific work begins in the summer.
