Indian Government Urges Citizens Not to Subscribe to Starlink
The Indian Ministry of Communications and Department of Telecommunications advised Indians not to purchase the satellite Internet services of Starlink since Elon Musk's company is not yet licensed to operate in India.
Starlink registered a business in India on November 1. It is already running an advertising campaign for its services and has opened pre-orders for its Internet. However, it has not yet got a license to provide the services, prompting the Indian regulator to make a statement.
Indian authorities urge Starlink to comply with the country's laws in to operate there. They have also asked the company to stop booking and providing satellite internet services pending official approval from the government.
Starlink is now working in test mode in 20 countries.
